Deep Ecology and the Conservation of Nature. An illustrated talk by Mr. John Seed from the Rainforest Information Centre, Australia.
Deep Ecology is a philosophy of nature, which sees that underlying the environmental crisis there is a psychological or spiritual disease stemming from the illusion of separation between humans and the rest of the natural world.
This is very similar to the ancient Indian philosophy of living in harmony with nature. The presentation would include music and poetry, followed by a couple of short films about projects for the protection of nature that were shot in southern India such as the reforestation of Arunachala hill in Tamil Nadu.
