Elephanta Island Travel | Mumbai

2nd January, 2012 - 31st December, 2012

UNESCO Heritage Site Elephanta Island is named after the elephant sculptures discovered there. Its famous caves contain 5th-8th-century stone carvings, dedicated to Hindu gods. The highlight is the imposing six-metre-high carving of Shiva. Beware of the aggressive monkeys.
