New Delhi: In today’s humdrum life, where can you witness a tiger perched cautiously on the tree or a deer in “flight” or even catch an eagle feeding sumptuously on its prey? These unique moments are captured for all to enjoy in the first ever exhibition by the father-and-son duo Vinod & Bharat Goel. Titled - “Jewels of the Wild”, the Wildlife Photography exhibition being held in Indian Habitat Centre.
The exhibition witnessed Mr. B.S Hooda, Chief Minister of Haryana, Bhisham Narayan Singh, Ex. Governor, Sikkim, Jharkhand, Mohammad Azharuddin, Ajay Jadeja, Sanjana Kapoor, Mr. Rakesh Bedi & Mr. Naresh Bedi- Wildlife Film Makers.
India is home to over hundreds of national parks and sanctuaries and every park or sanctuary is home to a different fauna and flora. This exhibition showcases impressive, life size photos from across various sanctuaries and national parks in India, revealing the stunning natural jewels of our country. The unseen, unexpected and unforgettable wildlife and wild places that most of us don’t even know exist. The photos have been taken by the father-and-son duo over a period of 5 years and bring to the exhibition a striking emotional power.
The exhibition is a real eye-opener to the natural phenomenon that is so amazingly beautiful and marvelous. And it is also an attempt to showcase some of the finest jewels of India’s greatest treasure of the wild as well as a reminder of the natural wonders that we are at risk of losing, if they are not protected.
Commenting on his exhibition, Mr. Vinod Goel, said, “I am happy to see my son follow my footsteps. The old adage – Like Father, like son, has come true to life. This exhibition of wildlife photography is a celebration of the joy of the wild and attests our enduring fascination with the natural world. Moreover, being able to share the excitement of the moment when we captured these pictures, with people who will visit the exhibit, inspires us to persist and continue our passion for photography and wildlife."
According to Bharat Goel “An honest beginning to know secrets of nature and share my experiences to conserve our wildlife which people think may get lost after a few decades; I want that the exhibition becomes an eye opener for the new generation and want them not only to love wildlife but to have its feel, aura and glory themselves.”
This exhibition will be on till 24th February, 2012 from 10Am to 8Pm.
